In today’s global economy, companies, law firms and organizations are regularly confronted with international challenges that require both legal and financial expertise. Launched in 2006, the Bucerius/WHU Master of Law and Business - Joachim Herz Program is a one-year degree program which is jointly offered by Bucerius Law School and the WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management, Germany’s renowned private business school. The interdisciplinary MLB Program is a response to the increasing need in the global economy for legal and business professionals with a solid knowledge of international business law and international management experience.
The MLB Program faculty comprises lecturers from top academic institutions as well as leading legal and business professionals. In addition to coursework built on an intensive and complementary law and business curriculum, MLB Program participants undertake a mandatory eight-week internship in Germany or abroad, write a Master’s thesis, and participate in a social project.
MLB Program enrollment is limited to around 55 participants in order to ensure individual attention, allow easy access to course instructors and encourage intensive discussion. The MLB Program is designed for graduates in law, business or economics and attracts young professionals from around the world. MLB Program participants generally represent over 25 countries worldwide and bring with them their diverse cultural backgrounds and broad ranges of professional experience in law, business, politics, journalism and development. This diversity and prior experience lend to the rich classroom dialogues, intense debates and a challenging and rewarding learning environment.
