
The annual salary for each position will be $49,500.00. The candidate selected for this position will be evaluated and considered for a tenure track position which will begin July 1, 2011. This tenure track position will receive a salary of up to $59,700.00.
1. Ph.D. in Literature or the teaching of German as a foreign language.
2. Teaching experience at the university level or demonstrated potential to teach at that level, and knowledge of the technological resources applicable to the teaching/ learning process of German. It is required to have preparation or experience in the teaching of German as a foreign language.
3. The ability and the willingness to carry out research and to publish in one’s area of specialization. It is required that one published article or an article accepted for publication be sent with the application.
4. Command of German at the native level, or proof of prolonged residence (three [3] years or more) in a German speaking country.
5. In addition to German, excellent command of both oral and written Spanish.
6. Experience or demonstrated potential in the search for and acquisition of external funding.
7. Willingness to create new courses in one’s area of specialization; to offer courses following the Departmental intensive method of language teaching; to offer courses either in the morning, the afternoon or early evening according to institutional necessities, and demonstrated willingness to work in groups.
1. Letter of presentation written in Spanish with a Curriculum vitae (CV).
2. An official copy of academic transcripts (B.A., M. A., and Ph.D.).
3. Three (3) recent letters of recommendation.
4. A copy of a published article or an article accepted for publication with proof of acceptance.
